When your child is overwhelmed by big emotions, struggling to focus, or finding everyday moments harder than they should be, it is rarely a matter of trying harder. Integrate & Regulate is paediatric Occupational Therapy that works at the developmental foundations beneath the surface, through structured, concentrated work with a clear beginning and endpoint.
Designed, outcome focused programs. Care that comes to you. And one therapist, Ella, holding the whole picture from first session to last.
The same therapist gets to know your child, designs the program, delivers every session and coaches you through it.
You can trust that your child will not be passed between clinicians, or slotted into an overpacked schedule. I take on a small number of families at a time and hold your child’s full history myself, so every session builds directly on the one before it.
A clear beginning, method and endpoint, with the foundations assessed and built first.
Frequency and repetition, because that is how the body consolidates
You always know what we are doing, why, and what comes next
Families and schools equipped with knowledge to carry change forward
A considered model, grounded in neuroscience and the nervous system
So many of the families I meet describe the same moments at home. If any of these feel close to home, you are in the right place.
Big feelings arrive fast and hit hard, and once they take hold, they can be very difficult to come back from.
Sounds, textures, lights, crowds. The world comes in at full volume, with nothing to turn it down.
A change of plan, a different cup, the wrong sock. Small things can feel impossibly big.
You have read the books and followed the advice, and you can feel there is something underneath it all.
At Integrate & Regulate, I use an evidence based approach that draws on cognitive behavioural therapy, nervous system regulation, attachment theory and DIR Floortime, working with your child's brain, body and sensory processing rather than against them. Understanding what sits underneath the behaviour is what allows us to respond in ways that build regulation, resilience and connection.
Ella MacLean is a Registered Occupational Therapist focusing on regulation and developmental foundations, who also facilitates therapeutic groups at a leading mental health hospital. Her work is held together by one idea: that regulation begins in the body and the nervous system.
From that foundation she draws together reflex and sensory integration, nervous system regulation and evidence based psychotherapy, as a single integrated approach rather than separate services, with considered clinical reasoning at the centre of every session.
